Ancient Plants

Ferns are seedless vascular plants that disperse and reproduce by using spores. They of course have no flowers, fruit or seeds, but do count with full leaves.

They are great disperses that are able to colonize at long distances, and they can live in a great variety of habitats.

They were among the first groups of multicellular terrestrial plants to evolve, having the "great fern radiation" in the Cretaceous.

Ferns are very simple plants, but are good at what they do. Because of this, they have been around for millions of years and are still thriving!
