Yes, Brook Lodge is a wetland:
Water looks a bit mucky, eh? Although it looks like a lake, the majority of the water-area is a fen! Notice the tall, dead trees throughout the fen? This is because the water level was increased approximately 15 feet above the natural water line.
A fen is defined as: a wetland that is fed by groundwater. The water chemistry tends to be neutral or alkaline resulting in a unique habitat that supports a very specific group of organisms.

A really interesting characteristic of fens is the peat-moss. Brook Lodge contains several floating slabs of peat moss, the peat-moss "floating islands" that are loaded with grasses and pitcher plants,
