In the 1960s, Brook Lodge (former Sherman Farm Marsh) was raised 5 feet.  This regarded controling the railroad grade involving a standpipe.  Also, the Reflection Pond was created by the Brook Lodge Dam (raised the pond an additional 10 feet).  This dam is used to control flooding in the local area.
